Current Events #1

​1. This article is basically talking about how the 9/11 attack caused many who were victims who survived the attack, workers on ground zero, and those who lived near the site to get illnesses and cancers due to the inhalation of the debris. Many were not covered by the World Trade Center Health Program (WTC Health Program). The people who were affected by 9/11 as well as firefighters who worked at ground zero fought to put cancer as result of the inhalation to be covered by the health program. Finally, it was added to the long list and many are now being covered by the WTC Health Program to pay for all the medical bills.  

2. This impacted the nation because our country was attacked and caused severe damage that has lasted many years after the attack. Till this day there are people struggling with illnesses and diseases caused by the attack. This was a tragic moment that our nation suffered and we all still remember that day and always will, especially those who are now sick because of it. 

​3. This article is interesting to me because not only did many people at the World Trade Center get killed those who were lucky enough to survive and help those to survive were punished with life long illnesses and diseases that will always remind them of that attack. This article is also important because it lets us be aware 9/11 never really ended, many people relive it every day. We need to be aware that those who suffer from cancers and illnesses need help to pay for all the damage that has been caused to them.
