A Thinking Women

I am a thinking women because I'm committed to graduating high school and going to a four year university that I choose.

I am not happy with society and it's pressure to do things and be people that you aren't. All thy media forces all women to not love themselves or appreciate their person. Yesterday we had a discussion about this and many girls in the class room said they we not beautiful, they don't feel beautiful and I believe that we are all beautiful. It may not be a physical thing but can be inside of you and I think it's better to be beautiful inside because you are real, the physical is only temporary.

I would try to change this by letting every girl I encounter know that they are beautiful. Explain that beauty is in the eye of the beholder. No on will notice your beauty unless you know it's there and let it shine through.

Right to think

Drummond said the right to think trial because basically that's what the whole trial was about. It wasn't about just teaching the children evolution it was more the fact of keeping the children close minded. The town is a one minded community and they didn't want to change that. Also, the towns people are sacred to do so because of being segregated and treated less.

I think that it is a must to be able to think differently! If we all thought the same nothing new will ever come about. For example ideas, to create things like inventions, new technologies, even simple things.

If we all had the same beliefs the world would be dull. Yes, it could help with current conflict. It could be lowered but if you think about it there will always be conflict, no matter what. It's in our human nature. I feel like life wouldn't be great it would just be okay. Different is not always bad. It can teach you new things like culture and open your eyes to change. There are many things out there that you can learn. It can make you better as a person.

Shoreline Lake and the End of the 1st Progress Period

The purpose of the field trip was to break the ice. To get to know each other and enjoy one another's company.the trip was okay, I honestly believe it was way better the last two years. My favorite part was learning to row boat. It was so tough! Next time we need to get games and music going, maybe a couple of races too.

Study hall means a period to do homework or make up work that needs to be turned in. Some requirements is doing at least half of the things that needs to be done. On block day I will work on completing all my posts.

Inherit the WInd Act 1, Scene 1

 The town of Hillsboro seems to be a very small town and dead you might say. Everyone knows each other so I'm thinking that it has about 300 to 400 people in it. When I think of this town it reminds me of a show that I watch on discovery channel, "Porter Ridge." This town seems more sophisticated but it has some familiar qualities. For one, they both are small towns with not a lot of people. The people of Hillsboro do not have their own opinion, they follow what other people say so they won't be outcasted. There scared to get there voice out because they have a higher power and they will punish them by starving them of work and social life. This town is way different than my city. We have different opinions and we are more populated. We vote for things in our town and come to an agreement for all to be happy. 

Current Events #1

​1. This article is basically talking about how the 9/11 attack caused many who were victims who survived the attack, workers on ground zero, and those who lived near the site to get illnesses and cancers due to the inhalation of the debris. Many were not covered by the World Trade Center Health Program (WTC Health Program). The people who were affected by 9/11 as well as firefighters who worked at ground zero fought to put cancer as result of the inhalation to be covered by the health program. Finally, it was added to the long list and many are now being covered by the WTC Health Program to pay for all the medical bills.  

2. This impacted the nation because our country was attacked and caused severe damage that has lasted many years after the attack. Till this day there are people struggling with illnesses and diseases caused by the attack. This was a tragic moment that our nation suffered and we all still remember that day and always will, especially those who are now sick because of it.

This article is interesting to me because not only did many people at the World Trade Center get killed those who were lucky enough to survive and help those to survive were punished with life long illnesses and diseases that will always remind them of that attack. This article is also important because it lets us be aware 9/11 never really ended, many people relive it every day. We need to be aware that those who suffer from cancers and illnesses need help to pay for all the damage that has been caused to them.

One thing I really enjoy doing is trying new things, meeting new people, and discovering new places to see and things to do.

Goals for this year:
- Pass classes with a B or better.
- Graduate
- Get into a good college
- Get my license

I am going to achieve these goals is making sure I say focus in school and study hard, work hard, and play hard.

I learn best when we have clear communication. Showing examples help me understand what the work needs to look like in the end. Also, a fun and happy environment motivates me to join in and really get something out of the lessons.

Adjusting our Focus Today!

I believe that an individual has a grand amount of power to influence change. There is a saying, "practice what you preach." Its one thing to say thing to start change but with action it can create a movement that others will follow. An example gives other an image to follow and thats how you can create a chain of change. One person can start a movement but together we can start a revolution. In each revolution one man always started it by talking about what needs to be done and gathered others to follow and then others to follow them. Its a chain reaction if you will. Hitler was a man who did that and lead to WWII. I believe that one man has power, but you need to know how to get others to follow for change.

Petition for the Mendez family 1940s

I want better and more equal schools for the Mendez family and as well as the other Chicano family's. We need integrated school to learn about one anothers culture to have respect for different races. Equality is the key for all of us to prosper. All students must be taught the same thing and domestic classes should be an elective that all students can take. Funds should be spread throughout equally so that all students can have the opportunities to be educated at the same level.
